  • Flabby, diminished leaves and inactive growth are the signs of infections and root rot. It is like if the soil remain wet – this is the indication that roots are unable to absorb water and they are infected by fungus. 
  • If the plants are weak and has spongy based, then the plants are infected by bacterial diseases. 
  • The signs of “root rot” - the root becomes brown or black spongy . 
  • Some plants are pot-bound covered with roots filled up the container and little soil. Such type of plants has been starved of water and good nutrients. 
  • The sign of “Insufficient light” - Plant become leggy and appears lean at one side. 
  • Lack of new flowers and buds. 
  • The sign of over/under watering, pests or inadequate lighting – leaves may distorted, yellowing or shriveled or fall off easily. 
  • If plants are looking healthy, it is good idea to quarantine it for 2 to 3 weeks before adding to your foliage/garden family. This is the time for hidden problems like pests, fungal or bacterial infections. 
  • Sticky residue on branches, foliage or the pots – indicate the presence of sap-sucking pests, aphids and mealybugs.
